About Us
Our Vision
Tune for Life is comprised of students in York Region focused on promoting and enhancing music as well as musical education in the community. We ensure that every single youth who wishes to learn music has the opportunities to do so. Another part of our vision is striving to enhance the abilities of young musicians who may already have a vast musical background as well as educating youth on the importance, wonders and influence music has on our society. Ultimately, our mission is to help people achieve a better appreciation and understanding of music by beginning at the root: promoting musical education for youth.
Our History
Tune for Life was founded by Tiffany Chan an Arts Unionville piano major in October 2011. She was inspired to create this organization after the funding for the arts diminished at her school. She realized the importance of having sufficient resources and programs to learn music, as well as the influences music have in her life. Even with the cuts, she knows how lucky she is to be a part of such an intensive arts program, whereas some students are struggling to read music or lack opportunities to further their experience and education in music. With this understanding, Tune for Life was born. It is established to promote and enhance the influence of music on the community through conferences, lessons and events.
